Pruning shears case
ARS pruning shears holster – protects the blade, keeps the tool to hand
There are two practical reasons to use a holster. Shears carried loose in a pocket or toolbox knock against other objects and the blade chips, which degrades the quality of the cut. And with the tool on your belt, it is one movement away. The holster takes the VS series and similarly sized ARS pruning shears.
The ARS SH-VSZ holster
The 230 mm belt holster takes VS series and similarly sized ARS pruning shears. It weighs 109 grams, negligible next to the shears it carries.

Why blade protection matters
A chipped cutting edge cannot be fixed by simple sharpening: the missing material has to be made up, which changes the geometry of the blade. Preventing the damage is considerably cheaper. If the blade is already damaged, you will find replacements in the blades and saw blades category.
Also available in packages
For the VS series, the holster is available together with the ARS GO-1 blade cleaner blade cleaner in a package that covers the full daily maintenance routine. See the sets in the pruning shears packages category.
Other accessories
Beyond a holster, what extends the life of a tool is regular cleaning and sharpening. That is what the blade cleaner and sharpening categories are for.
