Telescopic pole saw

ARS telescopic pole saws – high branches without a ladder

The biggest risk in pruning at height is not the tool but the ladder. Telescopic pole saws sidestep it: from the ground you can reach branches from 3.3 to 5.6 metres up, with cutting capacities of up to 185 mm. The UV saws are complete hand tools in their own right, and the telescopic pole can be removed at any time.

Two approaches

1. UV saw and EXP pole

This is the flexible option: the saw head and the pole are chosen separately, and the saw works without the pole too. Three saw sizes combine with three pole lengths.

Ready-assembled combinations are also available, for example the UV-34 + EXP-4.5 or the UV-40 + EXP-5.5.

2. Integrated design

The ARS EXW-2.7 is a single, integrated tool: nothing to assemble, no connection to check. Extended it reaches 2.7 metres with a 100 mm cutting capacity. A quicker start, at the cost of not being able to swap the saw head.

Which pole length should you choose?

A longer pole reaches further but is heavier and harder to control. It is worth choosing for the height you actually need rather than the longest available. The length of your arm and your own height add to the pole, so a 3.3 metre pole means a working height of around 5 metres in practice.

For thinner branches

If you only need to cut up to 20 mm, telescopic loppers are a lighter and cheaper solution, with a rotating cutting head.

Frequently asked questions

How high can I reach?

From 3.29 to 5.61 metres depending on the pole, plus the length of your arm and your own height. In practice that means a working height of around 5 to 7 metres.

Can the saw be used without the pole?

Yes, the UV saws are complete hand tools on their own.

What is the difference between an EXP pole and the EXW-2.7?

The EXW-2.7 is an integrated tool, ready to use immediately. An EXP pole takes interchangeable saw heads and reaches greater heights.
