Why ARS?
Japanese tools differ from the European tradition in two ways. The saws cut on the pull stroke, which takes less effort and holds a truer line. And the pruning shears are built by hand size, because a poorly fitting tool becomes painful after a few hundred cuts. On top of that, every wearing part is available separately, so the tool stays repairable rather than disposable.

Are ARS tools repairable?
Yes, this is one of the main advantages of the brand. Every wearing part, blade, spring and bolt is available separately, and the manufacturer offers a 25-year warranty.
Why do Japanese saws cut on the pull stroke?
Pulling takes less effort because the blade is under tension rather than buckling. That gives a truer line of cut and a cleaner cut face.
